While not specifically mandated by OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.147, a comprehensive Energy Control Program should include a visual element. Some of those applications may be:
- Identifying potentially hazardous area due to the presence of high voltages
- Providing a reminder of OSHA requirements for panels
- Making information available to employees, such as in the case of arc flash
