Circuit Breaker Lockout Devices

By definition, Circuit Breakers are automatically-operated electrical switches that are specifically designed to protect electrical circuits from damage caused by overload or short circuit. Although the basic function of a circuit breaker is to detect a fault condition and automatically open the circuit, it is often used as a manual energy-isolation device by manually placing it in the OFF position.

When a circuit breaker is subject to Lockout/Tagout, a Circuit Breaker Lockout Device is required for compliance with OSHA's 29 CFR 1910.147 standard. Due to physical differences in the various types of circuit breakers, different circuit breaker Lockout Devices may be necessary. DEenergize makes the following available:
