Industrial Equipment & Machine Tool Technician

St. Claire, Inc.
Farmington Hills, MI and Collumbus, OH offices
$17 - $25 an hour full-time with bonuses, overtime, medical and 401K

We are an industrial equipment and machine tool safety services company. Our mission is to assist our corporate clients in meeting OSHA requirements for safety and documentation. We are currently hiring technicians to join our team and help us assess machines and identify hazards in client facilities. Our clients are located in the United States and abroad, so travel is frequent. We will train each technician based on their technical expertise and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Follow OSHA standards for safe work at all times
• Read and evaluate machine blueprints and schematics
• Evaluate electrical and mechanical systems and the potential hazards they hold
• Analyze and identify energy-related hazards (electricity, pressurized fluids, moving components, etc.)
• Identify energy isolation devices (disconnects, circuit breakers, valves, etc.)

Requirements:

• Willing to travel frequently, 30%-50%
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently
• Able to physically move around industrial equipment comfortably
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills
• Manage time effectively and meet deadlines
• Able to use a computer and email
• Possess a valid driver's license
• Pass a background check and drug test

Preferences:

• Experience with CAD and MS Office
• Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (OSHA 1910.147)
• Degree or some college courses
• Industrial or plant experience
